Local and Offsite VM Backup and Replication
NAKIVO Backup & Replication can protect VMs both locally over LAN and remotely over a slow WAN. The product supports live Exchange, Active Directory, MS SQL, Oracle, and other applications and databases, ensuring that backups and replicas are always consistent. All jobs are forever-incremental and can run as often as every minute providing near-continuous data protection.
WAN and LAN links are often slow or have limited bandwidth, driving the need to optimise network utilisation with technology that can reduce network traffic. With NAKIVO Backup & Replication, network acceleration is achieved with enhanced compression and traffic reduction techniques which enable 2X faster backup and replication, as well as recovery of VMs and files from local and offsite backups.
Deduplication & Compression
NAKIVO Backup & Replication automatically de-duplicates backed up data at the block level, which dramatically reduces space utilisation. On top of that, the de-duplicated blocks are compressed to ensure that the least amount of space is used. This combination results in up to 30x reduction of space required to keep backups.
File Recovery from any Backup
Whether VMs are backed up to a local server, remote office, or a public cloud, NAKIVO Backup & Replication can recover files from those VM backups quickly and easily: files can be browsed, searched for, and downloaded directly from any VM backup, regardless of whether a backup repository is located on site or thousand miles away.
Staged Backup and Replication
To speed up the initial VM processing and save network bandwidth, NAKIVO Backup & Replication can perform staged backup and replication enabling to use a removable media (such as an external USB drive) as a target, transferring the media to a remote site, and then running only incremental backup and replication using the transferred data.
NAKIVO Backup & Replication v3.0 provides VM backup, replication and recovery reporting on any job, group of jobs, or all defined jobs. Additionally, reports can be scheduled, automatically generated, and sent via email.
vCloud Director Support
Answering the growing need for a data protection solution in a cloud environment, NAKIVO has added support for vCloud Director in v3. The product can now back up and replicate vCloud Director vApps, recover files from vApp backups, as well as recover full VMs back into vApps.
Single-Click Integration with Amazon
While NAKIVO Backup & Replication has long supported manual integration with most popular public clouds ¿ such as Amazon, Azure, Dropbox, Google, and Rackspace ¿ single-click integration with Amazon cloud now is available in version 3. Just fill out credentials, specify how much space to provision, and click a button - the rest is done automatically in less than 10 minutes.
With NAKIVO Backup & Replication the data can travel over an SSL-encrypted tunnel secured by AES-256 encryption (approved by NIST, NSA, and FIPS), the very same one that is used by banks to transfer confidential data.
Command Line Interface
V3 introduces a CLI that allows automating various actions with jobs and backup repositories, making it easier to script routine backup tasks.
Fast VM Backup and Replication
With Changed Block Tracking making sure only changed data is transferred, network acceleration that reduces the data size, direct SAN support for ultra-fast transfer speeds, and multi-threaded VM processing, NAKIVO Backup & Replication is up to 40% faster than the competition.
NAKIVO Backup & Replication is the fastest to install and configure on the market. The next-gen, Web 2.0 UI enables managing all aspects of data protection at any time and from anywhere, even from a tablet. The product monitors protected infrastructure and VMs 24/7, sends notifications on problems and changes, automatically protects new VMs, provides VM prioritisation and job grouping for easier management, and so much more.
NAKIVO Backup & Replication can scale out easily and support environments with 10,000+ VMs. The product has been tested to protect 1,000+ VMs and back up/replicate between continents across half the planet.
