IDA Pro is an interactive, programmable, multi-processor disassembler. Plus, in addition to being a disassembler, IDA is also a powerful and versatile debugger. It supports multiple debugging targets and can handle remote applications, via a 'remote debugging server'.

Hex-Rays continues to develop and support the IDA disassembler. This famous software analysis tool, which is a de-facto standard in the software security industry, is an indispensable item in the toolbox of any serious software analyst. Hex-Rays will continue to maintain IDA and ensure its continuous evolution.

Key Features

Multitarget Disassembler
  • Disassembler modules for a large number of processors. The free SDK even allows you to roll your own custom disassembler.
  • Full interactivity and extendability: direct, through keyboard interaction, through an internal programming language, through external plugins (unlimited power: the debuggers are plugins).
  • As close as possible to the high level source code: flirt technology (fast library identification and recognition technology), type system and parameter tracking and identification.
  • Code graphing.

Multitarget Debugger
  • The debugger adds dynamic analysis to the information gathered statically by the disassembler.
  • Offers all the features expected from a debugger and more: remote debugger, tracing.
  • Remote debugger: target either Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other machines in any combination.
  • Many other targets...

  • Named licenses: are linked to a specific end user and may be used on as many computers as that particular end-user uses. Named licenses are well suited for small business and private users.
  • Computer licenses: are linked to a specific computer and may be used by different end-users on that computer provided only one user is active at any time. This license type is suitable for corporations because they are not tied to physical persons and allow for easy license reassignment.
  • Floating licenses (network licenses): can be installed on unlimited number of computers (in one organisation) but allow only a limited number of simultaneously running copies.

  • IDA Starter: supports more than 20 processor families, including the popular x86 and ARM processors. IDA Starter does not support disassembly of 64-bit files.
  • IDA Professional: supports more than 50 processor families and adds support for 64-bit files (including Intel x86-64 code).
  • Both editions are available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The following features are available only in the Windows version: WinDbg/WinCE/Symbian debuggers, the .Net disassembler module.
