Design, build and manage dynamic infrastructures

Fujitsu delivers innovative software for designing, building, and managing dynamic infrastructures that enables you to improve service quality, to increase flexibility and to raise efficiency. It is designed for virtualised and automated environments that drive business agility.

Fujitsu provides software across the following areas: middleware, applications, developer tools, packaged software, infrastructure software, ERP software and operating systems. In particular, we offer their development tool NetCOBOL.

NetCOBOL is an open platform COBOL development environment which takes advantage of the rich features of the COBOL and is ready for the latest technology and a state-of-the-art environment.

NetCOBOL complies with international and industry-standard specifications, which enables stable operation and expansion of the key system for the future. Existing COBOL properties and skills and know-how of mainframes and small business computers can be fully utilised.

NetCOBOL Studio, a COBOL development environment based on Eclipse, which is an open-source integrated development environment (IDE), has been built into NetCOBOL for Windows, and Microsoft Visual Studio has been built into NetCOBOL for .NET as a development environment for the .NET Framework.

COBOL IDE allows for efficiency improvement of the whole development process including design, programming, testing, and maintenance. It enables program development linking with the latest technologies from batch to web applications.

The range of applications of the key system can be expanded and developed by linking with the latest technologies such as .NET, Java, and XML, enhancing the value of business-critical and mission-critical systems.

PowerBSORT speeds up sorting and merging data, improving the performance of the key system, enabling quicker data tabulation and analysis by combining NetCOBOL with RDBs.

NetCOBOL Products

Fujitsu provides NetCOBOL product offerings that target native Microsoft Windows platforms, Microsoft .NET, Red Hat and SUSE Linux.

The Fujitsu NetCOBOL for .NET COBOL compiler enables access to the latest web technologies. COBOL applications can easily integrate with Internet XML Web Services and ASP.NET applications. The NetCOBOL for .NET compiler produces Microsoft’s Intermediate Language (MSIL) that executes under the Common Language Runtime (CLR). This language-neutral, platform-independent environment allows the use of modern languages like C# and VB.NET on any .NET-compatible hardware and in the Windows Azure cloud.

NetCOBOL for Windows

Fujitsu NetCOBOL for Windows is a COBOL compiler and development environment that lets you create standalone COBOL applications and/or COBOL components for use with Windows. The NetCOBOL Project Manager provides an editor, compiler (NetCOBOL), interactive debugger, execution environment and other supporting tools for easy use. Separate products are available to support the generation of 32-bit and 64-bit code.

NetCOBOL for Linux

Fujitsu NetCOBOL for Linux x64 brings the reliability of NetCOBOL for Windows to the Linux environment. It can be used to create 64-bit server applications or applications that need the power of COBOL’s business logic. Enabling COBOL applications to interoperate with modern programming languages enables the creation of a flexible, future-proof enterprise system.

NetCOBOL for Solaris

Fujitsu NetCOBOL for Solaris is a complete COBOL development suite – compiler, runtime libraries and debug tool. The highly optimised code produced by NetCOBOL provides the basis for fast, mission-critical business systems on SPARC (Solaris) Architecture workstations.

PowerBSORT Products
