Product Information
vOptimizer is an advanced optimisation solution that quickly and easily reduces a virtual machine’s virtual hard drive to the smallest size possible while optimising Windows guest operating systems for speed and performance. vOptimizer offers many new functions for enterprise level customers while improving the interface and ease of operation for smaller, desktop oriented users.
Features
Extremely Efficient Optimisation
vOptimizer performs hundreds of optimisation processes in order to reduce Microsoft Windows based virtual machines to their smallest possible size.
Beyond “Shrink' and “Precompaction'
Neither shrink nor precompaction optimise the guest OS or match the reduction attained with vOptimizer, which performs hundreds of processes to guarantee the smallest possible VMDK or VHD file.
Application Installer Resiliency
vOptimizer maintains integrity of installed applications when VMs are optimised.
Network Access
Automated optimisation of VM repositories located locally or across the network.
VMs Do Not Need to be Running
vOptimizer no longer needs to run inside the VM, so the VM does not need to be running.
Multiple Editions
Multiple editions (Desktop/Network) for individual or data center usage.
Analysis & Notification
New management reports with related statistics, plus notifications for event activities.
Enable VM Communities
Use Desktop Edition’s enterprise management functions for complete administration of VM communities.
Licensing
CPU Licensing
This product is licensed per physical CPU socket in each server. Each physical CPU socket on the ESX host server(s) requires one CPU licence. Therefore a quad CPU ESX host would require 4 CPU licences. It does not matter how many cores there are on each physical CPU.
Support and Maintenance
Each new licence requires an initial period of support and maintenance - 1 year and 3 year options are available. Optional renewals are also available.
