New in Q1'12
- Telerik Report Designer - a new tool that helps end-users create and edit reports on the fly. Includes all the functionality of the current Visual Studio Report Designer (report items, wizards and tools, as well as styling and formatting options) but in a standalone application. Report definitions are saved as XML files, so new reports can be easily shared with other users.
New in Q3'11
- Interactive logical report layout - improves the interactivity in reports and optimises for screen-based viewing and delivery (this is the new default report layout, the old Print Preview layout remains as is)
- Watermarks - embed text and/or images into reports and customise the properties such as transparency and orientation.
New in Q2'11
- Page and resource caching - the ASP.NET, WinForms, and WPF Report Viewers, together with the ReportService for the Silverlight Report Viewer now cache their pages and resources on the disk, thus allowing to display infinite number of pages. This also leads to less application memory consumption for any displayed by the viewer reports.
- Report processing improvements - processed images are now cached on the disk until they are actually used/needed by the rendering extension. In addition, duplicate images are stored as one.
- Resource caching in out-proc session state mode (ASP.NET Report Viewer only) - report resources are now cached in the local memory instead of being read from the Session on each request.
- Other optimisations - additional speed and memory optimisations have been made to the main processing engine and all rendering extensions.
