OneNote 2010 introduces an improved user interface in the form of the Office Ribbon UI, new anywhere access capabilities with Office Web Apps and much more.
New Features
Linked notes
Dock OneNote 2010 at the side of your screen and take notes whilst you have other applications such as Word 2010 or PowerPoint 2010 open. When you need to remember where your note come from, you can use Linked Notes to jump straight to the source with one click.
Improved user interface
OneNote 2010 introduces the new Ribbon user interface that groups functions by task. This helps you to improve productivity when creating, editing and viewing notes. With the Ribbon you can access your most commonly used functions directly from the Quick Access Toolbar.
Improved group notebook features
When sharing a notebook, changes made by others since you last opened the notebook are automatically highlighted. Restore accidental changes made by others and use the new page versions feature to view a page's history by date and author.
Enhanced search
Now you can get search results as you type and more relevant results based on choices made on previous searches.
Translation capabilities
Hover over a word, or highlight a section of text and easily get a translation in a range of different languages.
New text styles
Easily apply a range of new text styles to your notes from the Office Ribbon. Or use the format painter to copy formatting between sections of text.
Anywhere access
With the new Office Web Apps, you can view and edit your notebooks using just your browser. And with the mobile edition you can view and make notes on your mobile device.
New Backstage View
The new Backstage view available from the Office Ribbon UI provides logical access to functions related to the maintenance and administration of your notebooks. It's completely extensible and customisable so Office developers can add functionality that integrates with your own back-office systems.
