Office Word 2010 is a powerful authoring programme that gives you the ability to create and share documents by combining a comprehensive set of writing tools with an easy-to-use interface. Create professional-looking content, with a host of new tools; you can quickly construct documents from predefined parts and styles, as well as compose and publish blogs directly from within Word. Word 2010 introduces support for the new Office Web Apps so you can view and edit documents online, new real-time co-authoring capabilities, new text-based visual effects and more.

New Mobile Capabilities
With the new Office Web Apps, you can view and edit Word documents using just your browser. And with Word Mobile 2010 you can view and make edits to documents on your Windows Mobile device.
Co-authoring
Completely new co-authoring functionality enables multiple individuals to collaborate on Word 2010 documents, in real-time. Each individual can see who is working on the document and start a conversation with them. All modifications are highlighted to make version control even easier.
Enhanced Search
Find sections of text more easily with the improved Find window which displays a short summary of results in one window.
New Visual Effects and SmartArt
Add special effects to any text such as glow, reflection, shadow and bevel. The text continues to function as expected when visual effects are applied, for example you can continue to spell check. Plus a range of new SmartArt graphics which can easily be applied after writing a bullet point list of text help to create appealing and compelling visuals.
Enhanced photo tools
Easily crop, pan and zoom photos and preview changes before they're made. Tweak colours and brightness, add captions and more.
New Draft Capabilities
Word 2010 now automatically saves draft versions of recently edited files which can easily be opened even if you forget to save a document.
New Backstage View
The new Backstage view available from the Office Ribbon UI provides logical access to functions related to the maintenance and administration of your Word files. It's completely extensible so Office developers can add functionality that integrates with your own back-office systems.
