MDaemon Messaging Server, mail server software, supports IMAP, SMTP, and POP3 protocols and delivers solid performance from its feature-rich and user-friendly design. A trusted alternative to Microsoft Exchange, the MDaemon Messaging Server provides outstanding groupware features, integration with Microsoft Outlook (using Outlook Connector for MDaemon) and a multi-language webmail client for email access anywhere.

New Features

New features in Version 12

The key new features are comprehensive integration for BlackBerry smartphones and ActiveSync support for devices such as iPhones, Android and Windows Mobile smartphones.
With version 12's release, MDaemon Messaging Server will be available in three commercial versions - these being 'BlackBerry Edition', 'PRO Edition' and 'Standard Edition'.
MDaemon now includes support for 'ActiveSync for MDaemon' which is a separately licensed OTA ActiveSync (AirSync) server. This server is capable of synchronising a user's default calendar and default contact data between their MDaemon/WorldClient account and an ActiveSync capable device.

Core Messaging Features

MDaemon supports IMAP, SMTP, and POP3 protocols and delivers solid performance from its feature-rich and user-friendly design. The mail server software delivers low total cost of ownership (TCO) value designed to meet the needs of small- to medium-sized business customers. MDaemon is available in multiple languages and supports mailing lists, content filtering, multiple domains while offering flexible administration and an open standards design.

Mobile Device Support

MDaemon supports the latest mobile device platforms so that regardless of the smartphone you use, you'll be able to access and use your email, calendar and contact information wirelessly while on the move. New in v12, the BlackBerry Edition of MDaemon uniquely offers a completely integrated BlackBerry Express server making BlackBerry devices a really easy choice to use with MDaemon. On the other hand if you prefer to use an iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile or Symbian device you're also covered!

Outlook Client Support

Companies that prefer to use Microsoft's Outlook mail client but need MDaemon's low total cost of ownership can use the Outlook Connector for MDaemon plug-in application. It enables users to continue their use of Outlook's email, calendar with free/busy scheduling, address book, distribution lists, tasks, notes, and more.

Security & Protection Features

In conjunction with its SecurityPlus plug-in, MDaemon provides comprehensive protection against spam, viruses, phishing, spoofing and unauthorised relaying and access. Technologies include SpamAssassin anti-spam, Kaspersky anti-virus, Commtouch Recurrent Pattern Detection, SSL encryption, tarpitting, DNS based look-up checks, DKIM message signing and verification, SPF/Sender-ID source validation, greylisting, host and sender screening, and Backscatter bounce address tag validation (BATV).

Integrated Webmail & Groupware

MDaemon's webmail client is easy to use and offers all of the features needed by small-to-medium business customers. It provides groupware collaboration for sharing email folders, calendars with free/busy scheduling, contacts, distribution lists, tasks, and notes. Offering desktop mail performance from wherever you are with Internet service and a web browser.

CPU - 1GHz or higher (multi-core processor recommended)
RAM - 512 MB or more (1 GB and above recommended)
Disk space - 100 MB for the installation plus additional space for each user's mailbox (5GB per user recommended)
Networking - Network Card with a unique fixed MAC address, TCP/IP networking, Internet access
Other - Internet Explorer 6 or higher

BlackBerry Edition requirements differ slightly:
