InstallAnywhere 2011 gives software developers a quick and easy way to author professional, reliable software installations for multiple platforms. With InstallAnywhere you can save time by creating a single project file that generates installations of your application for the platforms you target.
InstallAnywhere 2011 provides powerful installer customisation options, accessibility support, and advanced installation collaboration tools. It includes support for a range of operating systems including RedHat Enterprise Linux, Windows 7 and Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Java, SuSE Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Mac OS X and more.
InstallAnywhere Upgrade Policy: Please note that you can only upgrade your version of InstallAnywhere if you have InstallAnywhere 2009 or above.

Extended platform support

Enhanced Merge Modules - Enterprise only
A single uninstaller will now work for the main project as well as any other merge modules. Plus a new unified progress bar more accurately shows overall installation progress for all components.
Extended external resource bundle support - Enterprise only
External Resource Bundle support enables the localisation of installer strings. Merge modules can now leverage the external resource bundles from the parent as well.
Merge Modules log files - Enterprise only
Merge modules now generate installation logs in addition to the parent log files and multiple log files can be consolidated. This provides a comprehensive view of any issues that may develop by providing a single log file to review for troubleshooting. Plus all log related settings are now available in a single log settings task during installation setup.
Enhanced support for 3rd party compression algorithms
Setup authors can now quickly and reliably expand 7-zip (LZMA) and Tar compressed archives on their target system.
Create complex rule expressions
Installation developers can now write complex rule expressions with multiple operators (and/or/not).
Java Virtual Machine (JVM) enhancements - Enterprise only
Supports the latest versions of the JVM for Sun, IBM, Apple and HP (v1.4x, 1.5x, 1.6x) and supports the ability to download the JVM from the internet in real time.
Signed installations
Installers now have the ability to have custom code archives or their dependencies as signed JAR files. InstallAnywhere will extract files and make use of Java to verify the signature.
IDE enhancements
InstallAnywhere 2011 provides a list of preset variables that can eliminate manual entry and a table that allows quick viewing of all variables in a project. In addition, there is now a variable search and replace function that can be utilised in any of the installation tasks / phases to enable rapid changes.
