NetAdvantage for SharePoint extends Microsoft SharePoint 2010 functionality with a collection of web parts for data visualisation. It features a data chart web part and a gauge web part to bind data from SharePoint lists or SharePoint Business Connectivity Services, a map web part for visualising geographical data, a version timeline web part for reviewing document history over time and a content rotator web part for cycling through different types of multimedia content.

Version timeline

The version timeline lets you review document history over time. It provides a graphical view of different versions of a document across a horizontal timeline where it's easy to track individual's contributions.

• Zoom bar – review document versions from a specific period by just zooming and dragging the interactive bar over the timeline
• Versioning control – explore interactive and user-friendly timeline views based on SharePoint versioning
• Major and minor versioning preview – you can easily filter and review minor and major version changes as required
• Delete all versions – if you have to, you can clear all versions or just minor versions only from your timeline
• Restore a version – use the rollback functionality to restore/view a previous file version or regain lost work.

Content rotator

Use the content rotator to promote company activities, announcements, news, product launches etc. Point to banners and videos from multiple sources and create content with captivating animations, titles, and descriptions.

• Different Content Types – include pictures from libraries, lists, plain text or even rich text content in your animations. You can include titles, links, and image descriptions from any library as the source
• Animation - configure the time duration over which content changes, or simply use preset transition effects
• Playback controls – explore controls that include play, pause, and stop buttons.

Data chart

Data charts make it easy to display data from a SharePoint list or data exposed through Microsoft BCS (Business Connectivity Services). Just point to your data and define the axes of your chart. Plus you can customise the look and feel of the charts and overlay multiple data sets into the same chart. Data chart types include:

Gauge

Display data and key performance indicators in the radial or linear gauge web part.

• Bind data to SharePoint from external sources - connect rich lists and Excel files from external data sources to your web parts. You can even use external lists exposed through Microsoft Business Connectivity Services
• Aggregation - you can add different mathematical functions such as SUM, COUNT, MIN, MAX, AVG, MEDIAN and more for rapid insight into a larger data set
• Server-side calculations - for better traffic and database performance, all calculations are performed on the server side.

Map

Display interactive, multi-layered maps using open data sources like Microsoft Bing and Open Street Map or use other geographical information systems. Apply a data source to a map and format the result to provide a visual representation of the data. The map web part features:
