The Microsoft Core CAL licence is a bundle of CALs (Client Access Licences) for Windows Server Standard, Exchange Server Standard, SharePoint Server Standard and System Center Configuration Manager. Core CAL, which is only available on a Microsoft volume licensing scheme, offers a convenient way to licence basic server components across desktop computers. In addition, it reduces the overall complexity of managing CALs for server software for IT professionals and can represent a significant cost saving over purchasing each of the 4 CALs individually.
