VirtualCenter for VMware Server Product Components
VirtualCenter for VMware Server has four main components:
- VirtualCenter Management Server. Runs as a service on Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 and works with existing x86 hardware and software infrastructure, including blade and rack-mount servers.
- VirtualCenter Database. Stores data on physical servers, resource pools, and virtual machines. Resides on standard versions of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Virtual Infrastructure Client. Connects users and administrators remotely to the VirtualCenter Management Server and runs on any Windows PC.
- VirtualCenter Agent. Connects VMware Server with the VirtualCenter Management Server.
