Support Start and End Dates/Lapsed Support
Renewals:
The start date for a maintenance renewal will be the day following the expiration of the initial term (regardless of the date the order is placed). Renewal orders will not be accepted if the support has lapsed and VERITAS has since released an upgrade. If this is the case, customers must purchase the version upgrade before they may purchase support.
Initial Term:
The support start date on an initial term support will begin at on the date of the original license purchase. Initial term support orders will not be accepted if VERITAS has since released an upgrade. If this is the case, customers must purchase the version upgrade before they may purchase support.
Support Lapse Policy for VIP Open License Plan:
If Customer has allowed its support to lapse and, in the interim, a chargeable upgrade to the Licensed Software has been released, then Customer must purchase a license for that chargeable upgrade and will have the option to purchase a new support agreement. If a chargeable upgrade to the Licensed Software has not been made available, and Customer renews support, the support agreement renewal will be retroactive to the expiration date of Customer's previous support agreement and VERITAS reserves the right to assess a reinstatement fee for such support agreement.
