CapturePRO contains three .NET managed controls, COM and VCL components (CapturePRO, TwainPRO, and OverlayPRO) that perform image and video acquisition from digital capture devices including scanners, cameras, frame grabbers and capture cards.

The updated toolkit improves and streamlines how the interface operates with:
  • PCI capture cards.
  • USB capture devices.
  • DV capture from DV camcorders over FireWire.
  • Programming environments: Win32 Visual development environments
  • Sample code is included for: .NET, VB, Delphi, VC++
  • Uses ATL to guarantee the smallest footprint and does not require MFC
  • Deploys within .NET as a managed control (see The Pegasus Imaging Dot Net Philosophy)
  • Can be used in any development environment that hosts ActiveX/COM controls
  • Use the included CAB file or create a custom one
  • Interfaces with any digital capture device that supports Video For Windows MCI drivers, typically cameras, frame grabbers and capture cards
  • Load images directly into an application instead of resorting to third-party applications and loading files from disk
  • Complete control over image capture, compress and save options
  • Acquire both still images and video streams under program control
  • Capture video with or without audio
  • Capture to a video file or to programmatically named still images
  • Dialogs make available all modes and capabilities for a particular device, including screen preview of live video
  • Track video statistics such as number of frames captured and duration of a clip
  • Save images to BMP and JPG for hiqh-quality output images
  • Password protect images using PIC, a Pegasus Imaging Corporation format that allows greater compression and password capability. These files require Pegasus Imaging products to view and manipulate them.
  • Advanced scaling
  • AutoSave can be set via an interval timer
  • Data source selection
  • Multiple image acquisition
  • Watermark images with text
  • Applications include document imaging, Internet video solutions, networked security applications, industrial monitoring systems, medical imaging devices, and more
  • Free full-featured trial version available for immediate download
Imaging application developers can quickly incorporate advanced image acquisition capabilities into their products.
