GeoScope Java

Geoscope Java relies upon industry standard World Wide Web HTML server solutions such as Apache or Microsoft IIS for obtaining map data and hence can be easily integrated into existing systems. It offers a versatile platform-independent component which is easy to learn and use.

Geoscope consists of five Java Beans allowing mapping applications/applets to be built quickly by either integrating these Beans into existing code or by developing new applications/applets.

The following Beans are present within the system:

• Mapping Bean. The main bean within the Geoscope Java system is used for displaying both vector and raster maps.
• Scalebar Bean. This bean allows a scale bar to be positioned within your application showing the current scale of the map.
• Navigation Bean. The Navigation bean provides user interface functionality to allow the map to be both zoomed and panned.
• Statusbar Bean. The map scale, mouse coordinates and extents of the current map view can easily be displayed with this bean.
• Message Bean. Any messages from the system are automatically send to this bean. For example when a map is being loaded, a message is displayed in this bean informing the user.
