Disk Staging Backup (D2D2T)
D2D2T shrinks backup time by allowing backup data to be staged to fast disk drives before it is automatically moved to tape. Restore requests are redirected to disks automatically, reducing recovery time. This whole operation is policy driven thereby reducing costs and management overhead.

r11.5 will allow customers to fully protect 64 bit hardware
Smart Restore Capability
If ARCserve encounters any bad media it will automatically redirect the restore job to other media containing the same data thereby improving both the quality of the restore whilst reducing restore time and the requirement for human intervention.
Novell Open Enterprise Services (OES) Updates to Linux
Via a new OES Agent (available October 2005) to allow the following backup services:
- Backup OES NetWare Services to SuSE Linux Enterprise Servers
- Backup OES Linux Services to SuSE Linux Enterprise Servers
- Cross Platform Backup Restore of Novell OES Services
- Media compatibility – to ensure NetWare OES and Linux OES Backup Media will be readable on both NetWare and SuSE Linux ARCserve Managers
