The Virtual Access Suite (VAS) is an enterprise level virtual desktop and application delivery solution for the VMware Virtual Infrastructure and the Microsoft Windows Terminal Server platforms - embracing and extending both to deliver highly resilient and scalable on-demand desktop deployment and application delivery for enterprises worldwide.
Who needs VAS?
- Organisations that own an earlier version of Citrix MetaFrame and wish to extend the existing feature set without incurring the hefty costs of upgrading to Citrix Presentation Server 4.0.
- Organisations that wish to expand their existing Citrix farm, but are faced with budgetary constraints, leading them to look for a viable alternative to Citrix MetaFrame and Presentation Server.
- Organisations that own Citrix Presentation Server licenses and are either considering renewing their Subscription Advantage (software maintenance) or permanently replacing Citrix with a functionally equivalent, less expensive alternative.

The entire Virtual Access Suite (VAS) for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure framework supporting virtual and physical desktops

- Print-IT (EMF and PDF universal print driver for client, LAN, and WAN printing)
- MetaProfiles-IT (advanced user profile management)
- Manage-IT (server-based session / desktop configuration and lockdown)
- Max-IT (CPU utilization management and virtual memory optimization)
- USB-IT (redirection of USB-connected handhelds - BlackBerry, Palm, and Pocket PC)
- VIP-IT (per-session IP address assignment)
- Block-IT (access control for blocking access to unsanctioned applications and network servers)
- Redirect-IT (per-user file and registry redirection)
- TimeZones-IT (per-session time zone assignment)

- Client device location identification (i.e., automatically redirects external users through the SSL gateway)

Secure-IT
- Secure single point of access to firewall-protected Terminal Server farm
- Enables Windows clients to access a Provision-IT Terminal Server farm using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.
- Intermediates all inbound traffic destined to Web-IT (Web interface)
- Ideally placed in the DMZ
- Load-balanced using Microsoft NLB or third-party load balancer
Proxy-IT
- Enables any RDP-enabled client (i.e., legacy thin clients, MACs, Linux, rdesktop, etc) to connect to a Provision-IT® load-balanced Terminal Server farm
- End user experience can either be a server-based desktop or an appbar populated with the user's application set
- Load-balanced using Microsoft NLB or third-party load balancer
