In addition to .zip files, PKZIP can create .bz2, .tar, .gz, .uue, .xxe, and .jar archives and will open .zip, .rar, .tar, .gz, .jar, .uue, and more.

Both help better manage data and recurring tasks. With them you can:

• Execute PKZIP commands via the Command Line interface
• Create scripts to execute commands for automated unattended script and batch processing
• A comprehensive user manual and built-in help are available at your fingertips for quick reference
• Protect data with AES or 3DES encryption and require password access to private files stored on your machine or sent to others.
• A graphical user interface allows you to work from a convenient GUI when desired

Command Line features with PKZIP for Windows make it easy to customize compression and security settings to save time, bandwidth and storage space. Use them to streamline functions and optimize resource utilization. Need to run on a server? Use the Command Line interface provided by the PKZIP and SecureZIP Server products.

PKZIP Command Line is only available with PKZIP for Windows. However, a command line interface is also available on PKZIP Server and SecureZIP Server.
