Licensing policy for Network Edition for Terminal Server
While Network Edition for Terminal Server can be installed on the TS and on the Windows clients at the same time, the licensing policy combines "Per Seat" model for clients installation and "per connection" model for Terminal Server sessions.
Example.
Network has 1 Terminal Server (which is also used as file server), 10 PCs connecting to TS as terminals and 5 PCs connecting to Terminal Server to map network drive. 10 terminals are running CD-ROM Emulator in their Terminal Server session. Not more that 5 terminals are working with Terminal Server at the same time. 5 PCs have CD-ROM Emulator installed as client and using network CD Images for their virtual CD-ROM drives.
Licenses required.
For terminals using Terminal Server: 5 sessions maximum is required - number of license for sessions is 5. For CD-ROM Emulator network clients 5 license is required - because it is "per seat" model.
