Many passwords are linked to anonymous accounts (such as Windows Administrator or Unixs' root user). These accounts should, in theory, only be used on an irregular basis to perform potentially high risk actions, but may be used by any one of a number of people. The Enterprise Password Safe maintains an audit log of who views and alters passwords and allows nominated people to receive Email alerts when actions like these occur. The Enterprise Password Safe empowers management with the ability to control which groups or individual users have access to view or alter specific password entries. The Enterprise Password Safe acts as an effective solution for the password management problems of privileged accounts by eliminating the need for physical envelopes holding different passwords, individual disconnected password safes, or the circulation of passwords that may or may not be used. It ensures the data is stored in an encrypted form to prevent unauthorized access.
