Hardware monitoring using S.M.A.R.T.
The new O&O DriveLED constantly monitors the status of your hard disks in the background. With the help of S.M.A.R.T. (Self Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology). By utilizing this technology to analyze the internal parameters of your hard disks, O&O DriveLED can more accurately warn you in case of potential problems.
Displaying information in the Windows task bar
O&O DriveLED also shows the status of your hard disks in the Windows task bar. This function allows you to immediately see if your drives are working properly or if O&O DriveLED has detected a malfunction.
Green state - all drives are work properly
Red state - at least one hard disk reports problems.
S.M.A.R.T. self tests for an immediate check of your hard disks
Immediately after installation O&O DriveLED provides you with the ability to make an intensive analysis of all of your hard disks. Every hard disk that supports S.M.A.R.T. is able to run self tests. Using O&O DriveLED you can start a self-test of your hard disk with only one click of your mouse. During the tests several parameters and functions are systematically checked, including the interface, the surface and the mechanics - including every read head. In addition, the error log will be analyzed and the S.M.A.R.T. system itself will be tested.
If there were no failures are found, the corresponding indicator will be lit up green. If some failures occurred, O&O DriveLED will notify you. In this case, it is recommended to backup your data.
Access monitoring on the desktop
Have you ever asked yourself why it is that your hard disk drive sometimes seems to be working, even when you are not writing anything to disk? Up to now, you have only been able to observe the operation of your hard drive through a small light situated directly on your computer. But who really enjoys having to look under the table while working on a document or playing a game? From now on, bodily contortions are no longer needed to see whether or not your drive is working. From now on, the answer is O&O DriveLED.
While O&O DriveLED makes it possible for you to see your hard drive's built-in LEDs on your computer screen, this is just the beginning. In addition, you now have the possibility of monitoring all of your virtual drives, such as network drives, being able to clearly distinguish between read-access and write-access.
