Fault Management & Availability Tools
View the status of thousands of nodes and interfaces from a single web page. Select between up/down, bandwidth utilisation, interface traffic, errors and discards, and signal-to-noise ratio (for broadband networks). Every element is "hot" allowing an immediate viewing of the alert and to drill into the router, switch, or server in question.
CPU, Memory, and Disk Space Monitoring
Monitor and set alerts on the CPU load and memory utilisation of your Cisco, Foundry, Extreme, Motorola, ARRIS, Linux, Solaris, HPUX, AIX, Windows 2000, and Win XP devices. Monitor the disk space utilisation for Windows 2000, Win XP, Sun, Novell, and other devices that support the host resource MIB. Summary screen identifies the Top 10 CPU load and memory utilisation issues in your network.
Syslog Server
The Orion SysLog Server allows the Network Performance Monitor to receive and process SysLog messages from any type of device. SysLog messages are real-time messages that network devices generate to notify about a specific event within the device. Now you can receive, filter, view, alert and manage all Syslog messages from a single console or even remotely from the web interface.
Network Maps
Import any map — from an existing network diagram, topology map, or even a map of the world or a city. The Map Maker can import a map and make it "hot" by dragging nodes onto it. When the map is saved, it is immediately updated with the current status of the added nodes. Map Maker allows grouping of a network into regions, districts, sub-networks, and unique locations.
Event & Alert Management Tools
With Orion you can set thresholds for alerting on up/down, percent of bandwidth utilised, memory utilised, CPU utilised, disk space utilised, and much more. There are hundreds of possible configurations and parameters for alerting and reporting. Orion will send email to any compatible device, including cell phones.
Customisable Views/Menus/Toolbars
User views can be customised with a unique filtered view and a unique toolbar. Select predefined views or create your own new views of your network. Pages can be customised with individual corporate styles.
Custom Accounts by User
Define a general logon for each department or create unique accounts for each individual customer. One account could view all servers, another all routers, while a customer account could have access to view a single interface. Each account can have its own page layout, content, and customised toolbar. Orion is ideal for a consultant, ISP, or service provider with numerous customers.
Report Writer
The report creation utility is simple to use and walks through the process of either using an existing report or creating a custom report. The Report Writer is great for documenting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Availability and Response Time. The Orion reports are not only viewed from the web but are also "clickable" allowing a drill down into the current network status.
Custom Property Editor
The Custom Property Editor application allows you to either select from a predefined list or create you own unique field. Custom properties may be associated with either a node or an interface. It can include everything from Asset Tag Number to Carrier's Circuit Number.
Account Limitation Builder
The Orion Account Limitation Builder application allows you to create and customise limitations so that a user views only the Nodes, Interfaces and/or Volumes that you authorise. Account limitations can be based on Custom Properties such as Customer Account Number or region.
Custom HTML Resources
Orion provides the ability to detach a monitored view (e.g. Current Bandwidth) and link to an existing HTML web page. Add custom frames. For example, For example, add a current support entry form or the customers payment history to any Orion web page.
