Bandwidth Gauge
Whether it is managing a small campus or the entire nation, this toolset takes control. Bandwidth Management is critical to most companies with private networks. With the Bandwidth Gauge utility from SolarWinds display a graphical gauge of the traffic on any interface within a network. This is a very feature rich utility that even has a transparent mode option.
IP Network Browser
SolarWinds has, at its core, one of the fastest, most robust discovery engines in the industry. The Award Winning IP Network Browser has the capacity to discover and document from a vast amounts of information on a single device. Everything from System MIB Information to IOS levels to Interface and Memory Information. This tool is truly in a class by itself.
Router CPU Load
The Router CPU Load can monitor the load on multiple Cisco routers concurrently. Warning and Alarm thresholds can be independently set for each device. If the load on a Cisco router reaches the "user defined" threshold for a warning, the load bar turns Yellow. If a critical level is reached, the bar turns Red.
Enhanced Ping
There is no longer a limited viewing of one node at a time; with the Professional Edition of Enhances Ping viewing multiple devices concurrently is possible. The results are displayed both graphically as well as in a table at the bottom of the screen. Enhanced Ping has an extremely powerful graphing utility that allows viewing the results as a Ribbon Chart, Bar Chart, Column Chart or Area Chart.
Trace Route
The Trace Route from SolarWinds is one of the fastest trace routes on the internet. This utility can quickly trace a route from a computer to any other device. Trace Route not only displays the response time for each node but resolves the DNS real time.
Advanced Subnet Calculator
The Advanced Subnet Calculator is very complete in that it not only provides a comprehensive Subnet Calculator but is also has the ability to perform CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing). In addition to this it performs full DNS resolution and even provides a list of addresses generated which can be exported to Excel and used as a working document.
Subnet List
The Subnet List application from SolarWinds provides for easy and fast discovery of all subnets on a network. Once the details are discovered they can be exported to: Comma Delimited file (CSV), Plain Text file (TXT), HTML, or directly to an Excel Spreadsheet.
Wake-On-Lan
The SolarWinds Wake-On-LAN utility has the ability to "power on" a PC remotely. This is accomplished by the generation of a "Magic Packet" to remotely power on PCs attached to networks. When the remote network adapter hears a "Magic Packet" created for it’s unique MAC address the network adapter alerts the computer to power on.
Ping Sweep
The PING Sweep utility from SolarWinds has the ability to Scan (PING) either Responding or NON-Responding IP Addresses. This feature is very handy in determining which IP Addresses are in use. In just seconds sweep an entire subnet and determine the status of every IP Address.
Watch It!
Watch It! will post status with green, yellow and red alert indicators as well as audible alarms. Watch It! hides itself along the right edge of a screen. It's unobtrusive while constantly monitoring a network devices. For basic fault management and monitoring, this tool is very capable.
TFTP Server
While there are many TFTP Servers already available, we were working on a large network audit project and need a Multi-Threaded TFTP Server that could handle many file transfers simultaneously. The result was the SolarWinds TFTP Server. This is the Fastest TFTP Server available. The only truly multi-threaded TFTP Server that allows multiple simultaneous file transfers.
Ping
The SolarWinds version of the "Simple Ping" tool keeps a running response time log and allows exporting to HTML, RTF and Text files. This graphical PING continuously shows the following: The current response time, The running average response time in milliseconds (ms), The current, and Packet Loss due to dropped packets.
DNS/Whois Resolver
In addition to forward and reverse DNS looks-ups. SolarWinds DNS/Who Is Resolver allows determination of who owns or controls a Domain Name, Network or IP Address. The following information is displayed: Owner of the Domain, Business Address, Administrative & Technical Contacts, Domain Expiration Date, DNS Servers, Network Provider.
