Adobe Graphics Server automates the creation and repurposing of graphics for print and the Web. With Adobe Graphics Server you can maintain compelling visualization by ensuring that you are always using the most up-to-date, approved assets. And, since Graphics Server integrates easily with asset management and content management systems, you can integrate it into your existing automated workflows.

Enhanced file format support
  • Adobe Graphics Server software can read and write EPS and Portable Document Format (PDF) files.
  • Graphics Server can read Adobe Illustrator files as it would PDF or EPS files.
  • The Graphics Server flattening engine and optimization engine have been updated to support the new features in Adobe Photoshop 7.0, such as additional layer and text effects.
  • Graphics Server can read and modify SVG files. It can also read in an SVG file and save out to PDF while maintaining the SVG file's vector components.
  • Graphics Server can read in 16-bit-per-channel TIFF files.

Image metadata support
  • Graphics Server can input/output XMP and EXIF.
  • Graphics Server supports IPTC metadata.
  • Metadata rules match Photoshop 7.0.

Image size and resolution handling
  • Graphics Server provides all the major functionality of the Photoshop Image Size dialog box, including the ability to change image resolution.

Improved command coverage for CMYK images
  • A number of manipulation commands in Graphics Server have been enhanced to operate directly with CMYK images (for example, Replace Pixels, Replace Text).

Clipping path support
  • Graphics Server can read/write clipping paths for EPS, PDF, PSD, and TIFF.
  • Graphics Server can convert clipping paths to vector masks.
Automate Imaging Tasks for Print and Web Workflows
Adobe Graphics Server software dynamically updates, modifies, and repurposes content for use in any application or delivery to any device. Images can be output as GIF, animated GIF, JPEG, PNG, WBMP, SVG, PSD,TIFF, EPS and Adobe PDF files. Newly added support for EPS and Adobe PDF files makes it possible to deploy Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 in high-resolution print workflows.
  • Read/write EPS—Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 reads and writes both vector and raster EPS files in the same manner as Photoshop 7.0. EPS files are rasterized when opened with Adobe Graphics Server, providing the option to add new layers.
  • Read/write Adobe PDF—Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 software handles generic Adobe PDF files in the same manner as Photoshop 7.0. The files are rasterized upon opening, offering the ability to add layers.
  • Read Illustrator files—Adobe Illustrator files saved in EPS or Adobe PDF formats can be opened in Adobe Graphics Server. Using Adobe Graphics Server, you can easily generate thumbnails of Illustrator files for asset management systems and image portals.

Read and Write Industry-Standard Metadata Formats
Adobe Graphics Server software can read and write metadata in XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform); EXIF (Exchangeable Image File), the standard format for information about digital camera images; and IPTC (InternationalPress Telecommunications Council), the image metadata standard for news organizations. All metadata rules in Adobe Graphics Server match those in Photoshop 7.0. The ability to read XMP metadata allows Adobe Graphics Server to dynamically update an enterprise’s internal systems such as Content Management Systems (CMS) when new images containing metadata are received. Support for writing metadata enables Adobe Graphics Server to dynamically update an image’s metadata fields before the image is sent outside the system.

Manipulate Images in CMYK Mode
Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 lets you perform image modifications in CMYK mode, such as replacing text or pixels, thereby bypassing the need to convert images to RGB mode for editing. Maintaining the original image’s color space and profile preserves image quality and saves production time.

Take Advantage of Industry-Leading Photoshop Functionality
Support for flattening and optimization engines—By supporting the same flattening and optimisation engines as Adobe ImageReady 7.0 and the Save for Web functionality in Photoshop 7.0, Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 maintains the highest possible quality in rendered PSD files.

Image sizing and resolution control
Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 software provides all the major functionality of the Image Size dialog box in Photoshop 7.0, such as changing DPI and height/width. For instance, images can be automatically sized into rectangles of a specific height or width while maintaining aspect ratios.

Clipping path support
Adobe Graphics Server 2.0 reads and writes EPS, PSD, Adobe PDF, and TIFF images containing clipping paths. By handling clipping paths, Adobe Graphics Server maintains image quality and enables you to automatically create multiple renditions and dynamically update images that include clipping paths. For print-to-Web and print-only workflows, clipping path support ensures your images will be left intact.
