Control Local Access to Fonts and Features
A major problem for network administrators is trying to keep rogue or non-approved fonts out of their system. Suitcase Server addresses this problem by giving administrators the ability to control a local user's access to fonts and certain client features. Administrators can control these settings on a per-user basis.
Secure and Centralized Font Database
Suitcase Server now stores fonts in a secure and centralized database that is only accessible via the new suitcase Server Administration tools.
Font License Tracking
Suitcase Server helps you manage your font licenses and stay in compliance like no other solution available. It can track font licenses and warn administrators if the number of users who have been given access to a particular font exceeds the license for that font.
Users and Groups
Administrators now have the capability to create individual users and assign them to a specific group or groups. Administrators, therefore, have the ability to control permissions and access to the fonts on the server.
Control Local Font Access
Suitcase Server provides as much control as you need and your workflow demands. New functionality allows administrators to control local access to fonts on a per-user basis, preventing unprivileged Suitcase clients from adding their own fonts to Suitcase, as well as monitoring the fonts that are in any of the System Font folders.
Server Set Activation Options
Administrators can designate specific font sets as either required or optional. Font sets marked as required will be automatically downloaded and can be set to be activated by Suitcase immediately.
Remote Administration
Suitcase Server utilizes industry standard TCP/IP protocol to allow for quick and easy remote administration.
Cross-Platform Administration
Suitcase Server runs on both Windows and Mac OS X server platforms. The new administration application is built directly into the Suitcase application for both Macintosh and Windows, so administrators can control the Server from any Macintosh or Windows computer.
Cross-Platform Clients
Because Suitcase Server supports OpenType fonts, it is also the ideal solution for workgroups that have a cross-platform workflow. Users of Suitcase for Macintosh or Suitcase for Windows can both connect to the Suitcase Server.
Continuous Updating
Suitcase Server allows for continuous updating so workgroup members will always be able to keep up with any changes made on the server. Changes made by an administrator to font sets will appear almost instantly to the users who have access to those fonts.
Fonts Are Always Available
Fonts from the Suitcase Server are always available to workgroup members so there's no need to worry about workflow disruptions in the event of a network outage.
