Secure Desktop is designed for control engineers using a Windows computer on the factory floor. Human machine interface (HMI), data collection, report generation, and soft control applications are mission-critical and therefore need the security features found in Secure Desktop.

  • Added the ability to disable USB storage devices (OS Registry dialog).
  • Added Firefox dialog to easily start/re-start Firefox and install the iLock Firefox extension.
  • Fixed a couple of tab order user interface items.

  • Fixed a problem related to the Window Wizard and very long window

titles. There was a limit of 145 characters, which has now been
extended to 256.
  • Extended the number of Window Wizard configurations from 10 to 100.

  • Retail Point Of Sale (POS) - Secure Desktop is designed for IT professionals using Windows in the restaurant, retail, lodging, and resort industries. Point of sale (POS), inventory, customer-activated terminals, drive-thru, and kitchen order fulfillment are mission-critical and therefore need the security features found in Secure Desktop.
  • Kiosks - Secure Desktop is designed for IT professionals installing a Windows computer in a library, museum, cafe, airport, or college. Browsing the internet, browsing an intranet, or using a custom multimedia database on a public kiosk computer requires the security features found in Secure Desktop.
  • Password Protect - Secure Desktop is a secure user interface to any program. Each icon, group tab, or toolbar button may be individually password protected. Prevent multiple instances of a program.
  • Disable Hot-Keys - Secure Desktop can disable many different hot-key combinations, tuned for the specific operating system in a hardware independant fashion. Please go to the data sheet for a partial list.
  • Restrict Use - Secure Desktop restricts features in Windows, Internet Explorer, Office 2000, and Office XP programs using the registry. Restrict local file access, menu items, and toolbar buttons.
  • Control A Window - Secure Desktop has a Window Wizard to act on a selected window. A window can be automatically hidden or closed. A window can be forced into a minimized or maximized state and the min, max, and close buttons can be disabled.
