Monitoring
Sentry-go's monitoring features are designed to be quick & easy to configure, yet still give the power and flexibility of much larger, more expensive solutions.

Web monitoring features allow Sentry-go to act as an automated web browser, thus checking server/web site performance in the same way an end-user would access those resource. These include:

• Ensure continued access to standard internet & custom TCP/IP ports
• Ensure key HTML web pages can be accessed and are delivered correctly and within a specified time
• Being notified if web pages are updated, contents changed, contain errors or do not contain the expected content
• Record timings for the above accesses

FTP monitoring features allow Sentry-go to act as an automated FTP client. These include:

• Verify remote FTP Server & file availability & access
• Verify FTP "Get" & "Put" file operations
• Run native FTP commands & check results
• Record timings for the above accesses

Web Sites or key pages can also be verified for broken links & missing files. Unlike client-based solutions, Sentry-go performs nbroken link monitoring in the background, thus allowing periodic monitoring without the need for manual intervention. Both local & external hyperlinks, file references (e.g. images) as well as bookmarks can be checked and the results alerted by e-mail and/or displayed in a per-site web report.

Alerting
If faults are detected, Sentry-go can alert one or more Administrators or departments via e-mail, network message or your chosen means of delivery - e.g. by SMS or pager notification.

Reporting
With its fully integrated web server, you have immediate access to many HTML-based reports, direct from your desktop browser. Information comes directly from the monitoring & alerting engines either to show you what has happened recently on the server (e.g. recent alerts), or the real-time picture of what is happening now - e.g. the current site status. Other reports include Web access/FTP timings and site-based broken links reports.

Configuring
Designed to be easy installed & configured, Sentry-go solutions get you up and monitoring in minutes. Many options are pre-configured, so you're monitoring key areas of the server straight away - simply
edit the threshold limits to match your environment. For ultimate flexibility, however, all options can easily be controlled through the Configuration Utility, which allows you to enable, disable monitoring features, edit existing values, monitor new web sites etc.
